Fall/Winter 2012

Hi Folks,

Hope you like our latest Caim publicity pic - Caim with the purple Rhinelander Hodag - we couldn't resist!

Our week in Rhinelander was the second last stop on our recent Canada/Wisconsin tour which was a lot of fun and very successful. We met up with a lot of good friends from previous tours and made some new ones along the road as always. All in all we sang for 15 concerts and worship services and gave one workshop. In between all that singing we enjoyed ourselves as tourists - singing our boat blessing on the "Maid of the mist" little boat as we sailed under the Niagra falls in Canada and singing an impromptu Celtic blessing to some Japanese tourists in a wee wayside chapel at Niagra on the Lake.

On our last night in Wisconsin we shared a house concert at Ed's in Beaver Dam with Gloria Hays which was a very relaxed and successful way to end our tour. My facebook friend Evelyn George drove 8 hours to meet me that night and hear us sing which was amazing. The next day Gloria treated us to a tour of old Milwaukee on our way to the airport.

I stepped off the plane at Glasgow airport to two days of music in hospital gigs in and around Glasgow followed by a three day tour in Aberdeen. As I write I'm packing again for a few days in Northern Ireland with a group of Gaelic speakers and learners from North Lanarkshire. We'll be meeting Jacynth over there and Caim will sing at a ceilidh on Friday night. I hope my wee cat "Hope" remembers me when I finally pick her up from the cattery next week!

In the near future are all those annual Christmas party concerts for Music in Hospitals and hopefully the launch of my autobiography "New Beginnings" in the new year. "New Beginnings" is available now at http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/newbeginnings1952 but I hope to have a launch night with readings and songs before too long.

Caim have been invited to the Well at Willen, Milton Keynes in October 2013 and we plan to travel on from there to a another 2 week tour in Canada to fulfill the invitations we've had to return - especially to share our songs and dance in workshops. We've had several invitations to return to Wisconsin too and plan to organise another tour 2013 or 2014.

None of these tours would be possible without the many good friends who host us on our journeys - you know who you are - thank you!! Also thank you to those friends who drove us around Ontario and a special thank you to Julian House Monastery in Wisconsin for loaning us their car for our tour. Finally - thank you to our agent Ian Davies for organising such great gigs.

Deep peace

Heather (& Jacynth.)
