Spring 2013

Hi Everyone,

A belated Happy New Year and as it's a lovely sunny day here in Scotland - happy Spring!

Just a short update this time.  I was in Belfast with Jacynth last month for a sponsored sing to
raise funds for the orphanage we support in Thailand - Umphang Orphange for Karen
Burmese refugee children. We had a lot of fun singing for a couple of hours in the foyer
of Jacynth's church's new hall. The sponsored sing turned into an impromptu concert with
good banter with our audience and singing as many requests as we could manage. The
wonderful acoustics of the venue helped too. Thanks to the amazing generosity of our
audience on the day and various friends who contributed before and afterwards £860
was raised and is now on its way to Esther and Gum San at Umphang. The money
was timely - though we didn't know it at the time. In the words of Peter Willis of H20
(Help to Orphans - the Christian organisation who take care of Umphang and other
orphanages) -
"There is a baby with a cleft palate, I went with the mother and
baby to the Mae Sot Clinic during my visit but now E & G-S need
to take the baby to Chiang Mai for surgery.  The mother and
father both want to go to Chiang so that`s hotel costs for
a few days + food + petrol. ....................  so the gift
from you and Jacynth will be an absolute blessing ............
 perfect timing  ...................
Praise the Lord  !!!!!!!!!!! "
If you would like a Caim fund raising event for your organisation or
church or a presentation in song and powerpoint pics to learn more
about Umphang orphanage -
please contact us at cluniemusic@hotmail.com.

It's Jacynth's turn to come to Scotland next and she will be here
in May to help me with an evening in Glasgow to promote my music
and writing on Friday May 10. The Ignatian Spirituality Centre
in Glasgow have lovingly donated space in their creative centre
to invite folk for an evening of music from myself (backed by
Ciaran Dorris) and Caim and readings from my new autobiography
"New Beginnings".
Details of the event and a link to my book are on our website
www.cluniemusic.com.

Later in the year Caim will be singing at The Well at Willen
in Milton Keynes October 19th and we hope to travel on from
there for another tour in Canada.
Watch this space!

Deep Peace
Heather (for Caim)
