Hi Everyone,

Wow - is it really that long since our last blog?

As you can see www.cluniemusic.com has been updated and revised and is now solely for Caim and Jacynth and Heather biogs, gigs, reviews and music.

As I write, Jacynth and I are preparing to return to Canada and Wisconsin in September and October and very excited we are about it too!  I will be catching up with an old friend in Canada who I haven't seen for over 30 years and making a quiet retreat at Julian House in Wisconsin along the way but Caim also have a very full schedule of concerts in Canada and a couple of full weekends of music in Wisconsin.

We finally decided to return to Wisconsin when we were invited to give a fund raising concert for Habitat for Humanity in Rhinelander. Habitat is very important to Caim as are our friends Torey and Daryl (and their many cats) in Rhinelander so it was an easy decision to make. This time Jacynth won't be donning her snow shoes on the Wisconsin river (at least we think not!) but maybe we'll go on a boat trip and see those elusive red wing blackbirds again.

Our Canadian itinerary is on our Caim gig page and the Wisconsin tour will be added shortly.

On a more personal note - I have moved again to a cottage in Cumbernauld village, near Glasgow and thus I'm nearer to Ciaran for our Music in Hospital concerts and tours. We've been touring each month to somewhere in Scotland - the long and winding road to Campbelltown, to Inverness, Skye, Aberdeen (many times) and to the borders.

In between tours I've been writing and self publishing my autobiography "New Beginnings" which I hope to sell at Caim concerts and through the cluniemusic website soon.  The remaining "Full Vision" CDs of my late husband Al Ponting will be offered as gifts with copies of the book until the CDs run out. I am indebted to friend and writer Ian McGregor from the Scottish Fellowship of Christian Writers (SFCW) for editing, commenting, encouraging and helping me prepare "New Beginnings" for publication.

As you can see from the website, Jacynth and I are both available for solo work in our respective lands. Jacynth sings at weddings, funerals and church services.  I have recently returned to solo gigging with my return debut at the Ignatian Centre, Glasgow as part of a day of summer songs and poetry with Dunkeld poet Kenneth Steven.

Finally just to make sure my time is fully occupied I'm learning gaelic again and hope to add some Scottish gaelic songs to mine and Caim's repertoire. As soon as Caim return from Wisconsin in October I'll be boarding the ferry to Northern Ireland with other Gaelic learners from North Lanarkshire where I live.  We'll be hosted for 5 days by the Irish speaking community in Draperstown, Northern Ireland and Caim will be singing at one or more ceilidhs during that time.

So - hopefully we'll catch up with some of you on our travels but till then or until we return -

Deep Peace

Heather
